If you follow me on Instagram @LifeintheBigWoods , you might have seen in my stories that we finally hung curtains up in our living room!  By curtains, I mean we hung up drop cloths to make them look like curtains. 😉 They were really cheap and turned out pretty cute!

You probably know that using drop cloths for curtains isn’t a brand new, original idea.  I was showing my husband a picture of what the curtains would look like, and he said, “Wait, you mean drop cloth curtains weren’t your original idea??” He’s so sweet.

In fact, if you go to Google and type in “drop cloth curtains” it says that there are over 23,000,000 results.  Ha!

I’ve had the drop cloths stacked in my kitchen for some time, and after begging my husband to help me put up the curtain rods — by help, I mean that he did it all 🙂 — we finally have curtains in our living room!

First of all, here is a picture of our living room and what it has looked like for the past year without curtains. All of the baby toys add a special little touch, don’t they? This is kind of what our life looks like 5 out of 7 days a week.  I clean on the weekends, and by Wednesday its a disaster again!

I bought the Everbilt 6’x9′ drop cloths from Home Depot for about $10 each. Lowe’s drop cloths are very similar. My curtain rods are the same that we used in our master bedroom.  We got the rods (HERE) and rings (HERE) from Amazon.

I washed mine first, then ironed them out before I hung them, but as you can tell they still have a rumpled look to them.  I folded down the top half by about a foot (I think?) and clipped them onto the rings.  They were a really quick, easy project that was cheap! It’s amazing how adding curtains made our living room feel so much cozier.  Hopefully, they’ll give you a little inspiration!
